1. What is the SEER? SEER stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio and is a measure of energy efficiency. Ideally, you want a brand that uses a two-stage scroll compressor. Those are even more efficient than a single-stage and is also going to have a longer operating life. It costs a bit more, but it is worth it.

3. How is the warranty coverage? You can get a good idea of how confident a company is in the quality of their geothermal heat pump brand by the kind of warranty protection you are going to get. In the current market, a 10-Year Limited Warranty is about average. You should look for that as the minimum. After all, some companies offer lifetime warranties on the compressor or entire unit replacement warranties for a number of years.
